sorry if you’re texting me, they fucked up my sim card again and now I have to wait two more days for another one to get to me. the lady said “be sure to say you want your old phone number when you call for the fourth time for the third sim card,” and I’m like… I just don’t think I could have been more clear about that when I called today saying “I would like my old phone number back”

phone saga, just trying to get my number back, my brother lost his number of like 20 years recently in a switcheroo of some kind and I’m just quaking that I’m gonna lose my coveted phone number that I LOVE, ok I understand this isn’t what you’d qualify as a Real Problem but :sob: pls. bls.

ok… might switch to my work iphone, which they said we can use as our personal devices, or I might just use this $160 phone I got on craigslist today – but if I use the iphone I can sell this again. and I’ll have to do some return rigmarole shit to get the money back on the One Plus phone I panic-bought :/

in the mean time, I got a sim card at the best buy, and got it hooked up, and had some pretty frantic movement – like hooking up my old PC I haven’t turned on in over a year to get to Authy, and calling my very nice ex spouse to read me off a 2fa code sent to his phone, added to my old gmail account forever ago – to make sure I didn’t lose any access to anything critical.

next up, gotta put an actual new sim card in the phone, that the carrier is gonna send me by hopefully monday or tuesday, which has my actual phone number on it. so I’m temporarily on a 971 number. I’D RATHER DIE*

Welp dropped my beautiful phone in the river last night. Dealing with All That today. Hate that I’ve just made it harder to talk to my girlfriend in europe until I get this shit figured out. and then I panicked and bought a full price new phone and then IMMEDIATELY regretted it, realizing I could actually do something else to get onto a phone soon, but wasn’t able to cancel the order, so now I have to RETURN it and do all that shit. UGH UGH UGH.
